Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has hinted that the Gunners could be forced to shop from the transfer market in January to fortify themselves, ahead of their Champions League tie against Barcelona.
The Frenchman disclosed that his team will do everything possible to improve on their game in 2016.
Speaking at a press conference Thursday December 17, the tactician noted that the prevailing injury problems at the team will leave the London Club with no choice, than to shop for players.
“We are open minded,” he started.
“We are not the only ones who can decide about the speed of the transfers.
“We have to adapt to the availabilities and the speed of negotiations and the willingness of clubs to sell.
“But we are willing because we are short.”
The Gunners welcome league favourites Manchester City to the Emirates on Monday December 21, a match in which the Gunners’ Boss claimed will not be the title decider.
“It’s a massive game that you play at home and of course you want to win.
“Over Christmas we play many home games and it’s important to be in a strong position after Christmas.
“It’s a tight game, we look at the numbers and we’re very close (in terms of quality).
“Man City has huge potential – We will need a top top level team performance,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, Thierry Henry believes Arsenal can win the Premier League title if they steer clear of further injuries.
According to him, the head coach has a squad at his disposal which is capable of ending their championship drought but is worried their persistent injury problems could derail their season.
