The Guardian reports have it that Boko Haram terrorists have killed 30 people and left 20 others injured in a series of attacks on Warwara, Mangari and Bura-Shika villages in Borno state.
Mustapha Karimbe, a civilian helping in the fight against the insurgents in the north, said: “most of the victims were slaughtered and most of the wounded (had suffered) machete cuts.”
The information about the attack could not be made public because telecom masts in the area have been destroyed in previous Boko Haram raids, hindering communication.
Following this, the number of people killed in Nigeria since President Muhammadu Buhari took office in May to more than 1,530, according to an AFP tally.
