The club’s executives of English Premier League champions Chelsea football club are presently deliberating over the future of Jose Mourinho, The Times reports.
According to the report, the discussion is centered on whether to dismiss the manager immediately or allow him to take charge for Saturday’s Barclays Premier League match against Sunderland.
The Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich is reluctant to sack Mourinho as the Portuguese has no buy-out clause in his newly signed contract, meaning Mourinho could command a compensation of up to £40million.
It is believed that Abramovich is keeping Mourinho as a result of the lack of realistic replacements.
However, Abramovich is in an emergency meeting with trusted advisors of the club which include: Bruce Buck, Marina Granovskaia, Eugene Tenenbaum and Michael Emenalo at Stamford Bridge.
Reports from in some quarter have it that Juande Ramos is a surprise candidate being considered as a potential caretaker manager by Chelsea should the board decide to sack José Mourinho before the end of the season.
Juande Ramos is a Spanish former footballer and manager who is currently a free agent after not renewing his contract with the Ukrainian football club Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk in May 2014.
He has managed a couple of European teams which include Real Madrid, Tottenham, Sevilla, CSKA Moscow.
