Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump says he would crack down hard on terrorists in the U.S., pledging to “get it stopped.”
“I would handle it so tough, you don’t want to hear,” Trump said Friday night after being asked how he would handle terrorism cases inside the country.
“I would get myself in so much trouble with them, we are going to handle it so tough,” the billionaire businessman continued. “You know what we’re going to do? We’re going to get it stopped.”
Trump’s speech came hours after the FBI confirmed it is investigating Wednesday’s shooting in San Bernardino, Calif., as an act of terrorism.
Trump panned reports that some people who knew one of the gunmen worried about the potential for an incident, but did not want to tell authorities out of fear of accusations of racial profiling.
“We have become so politically correct that we don’t know what the hell we’re doing,” he said.
Trump added that in the San Bernardino office building where the shooting took place, “if you had a couple of folks in there with guns, and that knew how to use them, and they were in that room, you wouldn’t have dead people. The dead people would be the other guys.”
