Messi Is Different, Blessed and Touched By God - Arsene Wenger

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has backed Lionel Messi to win this year’s Balon D’or, saying the Argentine is touched by God.

According to him, Messi is just a ‘different’ player and is so blessed that whenever he has the ball, he can do just anything with it.

“Messi is touched by God when he has the ball at his feet. He has a supersonic level of training.”

The 66-year-old tactician who has been Arsenal manager since 1996 disclosed that for him, Messi is the best and should win this year’s world footballer of the year award.

“No doubt (he will win) this year, as he has won everything,” he said. “For me, he is the best,” he said.

It would be recalled that FIFA released the top three nominees for the FIFA Ballon D’Or, Puskas award and coach of the year nominees.

The names of the nominees in the men and women categories were released via a statement by the football governing body.

The nominees for the FIFA Ballon d’Or are: Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal/Real Madrid), Lionel Messi (Argentina/FC Barcelona) and Neymar (Brazil/FC Barcelona).

Meanwhile, Carli Lloyd (USA/Houston Dash), Aya Miyama (Japan/Okayama Yunogo Belle), and Célia Šašić (Germany/1. FFC Frankfurt) are nominated for the women’s award.

The candidates for the FIFA World Coach of the Year for Men’s Football and FIFA World Coach of the Year for Women’s Football awards have also been announced.
