Six Nurses Stabbed To Death Inside Staff dormitory

Tragedy struck in the resort town of Beidaihe, northern province of Hebei in China on Thursday, 20 November, 2014, when six nurses and a co-worker were knifed to death by another member of staff at a Chinese hospital.
According to a news agency Xinhua, the tragic incident happened inside a female dormitory in the hospital.
It was however gathered that the man who carried out the attack told police he had “a history of mental illness”.
According to China Central Television, CCTV, the suspect, named as Li Xiaolong, was about 27 and had been detained by police.

The attack was carried out early on Thursday “in the women’s staff dormitory at the 281 Hospital in Beidaihe, an online post stated.

The incident comes as the latest in a series of fatal stabbing attacks across China.
Local media identified a hospital administrator as being among those killed in the latest incident. They also said a nurse was injured.
In September, four children were killed by a man while on their way to school in China’s southern Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
Another knife attack that same month saw three children killed and six people injured in a knife attack at a school in the central Hubei province.
In recent years, China has also seen a rise in the number of attacks on doctors and nurses by people who blame them for the deaths of relatives.
