Great Britain win the Davis Cup for the first time in 79 years As Andy Murray beats David Goffin

Andy Murray blocked out the deafening noise of a partisan crowd to add the Davis Cup title to a trophy cabinet that already includes Wimbledon and US Open replicas, and an Olympic gold medal.
The enormous piece of silverware that is the Davis Cup itself will never be his alone and belongs to the nation, but there is no doubt who was responsible for its acquisition.

Murray became the first player to win three rubbers in the Davis Cup final since Pete Sampras 20 years ago when he overcame Belgium’s David Goffin 6-3 7-5 6-3 amid another febrile atmosphere at the Flanders Expo as the tie was completed at 2.52pm.
