Aston Villa Fined £60,000 After Failing To Control Their Players At Leicester

Aston Villa,Leicester

Aston Villa have been fined £60,000 and warned about their future conduct after failing to control their players at Leicester City. The club admitted the players did not conduct themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from proactive behaviour.

The fine comes after Villa and Leicester players scuffled following Matty James’s tackle on Jores Okore at the end of Leicester’s 1-0 Premier League win earlier this month.

It is the second time Villa have been punished for failing to control their players this season after the Football Association fined them £30,000 following their reaction to Gabby Agbonlahor’s red card against Manchester United in December. Agbonlahor’s dismissal, for a tackle on Ashley Young, was later rescinded.

The latest sanction happened after James and Ciaran Clark clashed at the King Power Stadium following the Leicester player’s challenge on Okore. Both James and Clark were sent off and the pair had to be separated before they made their way down the tunnel.

Leicester City were fined £20,000 for their part in the incident earlier this month.
