NYSC Corps Members Donate Foodstuff, Drugs Others To Ushafa Village

Some members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) on Thursday in Abuja donated foodstuff, drugs, clothing and other materials to Ushafa Village in the FCT.

The Corps members, under the aegis of the Editorial Board, Community Development Service (CDS) were led by its Coordinator, Mrs Nabila Idris.

Donating the items, Mrs Idris said the gesture was to aid the less privileged residents of the community.
"We are happy that we can touch lives by contributing our own quota to the society" she said.

In her remarks, the Assistant General Secretary of the CDS, Miss Amadi Chinwe, said the donations were in recognition of the need to support the less privileged.

"We are here to lend a helping hand to people who are less privileged and to give back to the community from the little that we earn as corps members.

"This initiative is our own way of reaching out and impacting on the society" she said.

The President of the group, Mr Tolulope Ige, said it was the aim of the group to ensure that the health items and drugs met some health needs of the community.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that some of the health items donated include: anti malaria drugs, mosquito nets, toilet papers.
