The Federal Government on Wednesday said it had earmarked N50 billion for the purchase of tractors for distribution to farmers across the country.
Vice President Namadi Sambo stated this at presidential campaign of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Dutse.
He said the tractors would be sold to farmers at subsidised rates.
According to him, the present administration of President Jonathan is committed to improving and boosting agriculture in Nigeria.
Sambo appealed to the people of the state to vote for PDP in the forthcoming elections and urged them not to vote along religious and ethnic lines.
He said God knows why he made Nigeria multi-ethnic and multi-faith and enjoined the people to use diversities as strength.
The Vice Chairman of PDP in North-West, Alhaji Ibrahim Kazaure, said the people of the zone would vote for PDP in the elections in February.
