Heartbreaking photos appeared yesterday on the official Twitter account of the United Nations refugee agency (UNHCR).
All the people pictured became victims of unrest in the North-East of Nigeria ravaged by Boko Haram insurgency.
Many of those who survived, lost their relatives and were deprived of homes, having to flee their own country in fear for life.
One of the bloodiest Boko Haram massacres was launched by the insurgents earlier this months in Baga, Borno State.
According to the official data, 150 people died, however the chilling figures provided unofficially said the number of people killed exceeded 2,000.
As soon as Baga had been seized by the militants, many people ran away to the neighbouring countries. The town is still believed to be under Boko Haram control, with the military making attempts to recapture it.
